The City of Frisco is poised to invest more than $17 million in critical infrastructure projects aimed at enhancing water systems and improving pedestrian pathways. These initiatives are set to be reviewed during the City Council meeting on May 6.

Key Projects Under Consideration

The proposed expenditures encompass several significant contracts:

  • Water Main Reconstruction on Kings Ridge Road: McMahon Contracting is slated to receive approximately $2.5 million to undertake the reconstruction of a water main on Kings Ridge Road. The project includes the removal and replacement of concrete pavement, sidewalks, drive approaches, curbs, and gutters, along with the installation of a new 12-inch water main, complete with fire hydrant assemblies and valves.
  • Water Line Installation Along Parkwood Boulevard and Cotton Gin Road: Western Municipal of Texas is in line for a $14 million contract to install 10,000 linear feet of water line and a transfer valve along Parkwood Boulevard and Cotton Gin Road. This endeavor aims to bolster water infrastructure capacity in the area.

These projects are part of a broader strategy to modernize Frisco’s infrastructure, ensuring the city keeps pace with its rapid growth and development.

Additional Infrastructure Enhancements

Beyond water infrastructure, the City Council is also considering a $729,963 investment to replace the HVAC system at the city’s Heritage Museum. This upgrade is intended to improve climate control and energy efficiency within the facility.

Strategic Importance

Frisco’s commitment to infrastructure development is evident in its ongoing projects, such as the construction of a 2.5 million-gallon elevated water storage tank at Preston Road and PGA Parkway, expected to be completed by the third quarter of 2025. Additionally, the proposed Frisco Pump Station #4 will feature two ground storage tanks with a combined capacity of 20 million gallons, further enhancing the city’s water storage and distribution capabilities .

These initiatives underscore Frisco’s proactive approach to accommodating its growing population and ensuring the reliability of essential services.
