Frisco city leaders have approved plans for a new commercial development that will bring retail and office space to a growing part of the city—while also preserving natural open space and adding new hike-and-bike trails.
The development will be located on roughly 34 acres along PGA Parkway, just west of Preston Road, and was approved by the Frisco City Council on July 2. This project aims to blend urban amenities with natural preservation, offering both economic and recreational benefits to the community.
According to city documents and developer proposals, the project will feature:
The site layout emphasizes walkability and accessibility, aligning with Frisco’s long-term vision of developing mixed-use, pedestrian-friendly zones especially near major thoroughfares like PGA Parkway.
City officials praised the plan’s attention to environmental preservation, noting that roughly one-third of the land will remain as undeveloped green space. This will not only protect the natural creek but also provide scenic recreational paths for residents and employees.
Mayor Jeff Cheney noted the project’s potential to “set the standard” for future developments along PGA Parkway. “This is the kind of project that balances our economic goals with quality-of-life priorities,” he said during the council meeting.
The development adds to the rapidly expanding area surrounding PGA Frisco, which has already attracted major investments, including residential communities, hospitality venues, and golf-related businesses. The approved plan is expected to complement these uses, adding more office and retail opportunities while retaining natural character.
With approval granted, the developer can now move forward with more detailed design and infrastructure planning. A construction timeline has not yet been publicly released, but officials expect phased development to begin soon.
The combination of commercial amenities and preserved green space reflects Frisco’s broader planning goals: fostering growth while maintaining community livability.
