Plano ISD’s Board of Trustees has unanimously approved a new compensation plan marking the largest salary increase in district history with significant raises slated for the 2025–26 school year.
Category | Raise |
---|---|
Teachers | Increased 4%–8.5%, based on experience |
Starting Salary (Bachelor’s) | Rising to $63,000 from last year’s $61,000 |
Starting Salary (Master’s) | Now $65,000 |
These new rates mark a substantial boost in Plano ISD’s competitive positioning, helping to attract and retain top-tier educators.
PISD Chief of Employee Services Duana Kindle emphasized:
“It certainly is important … to support our programming across the district. We understand … to remain competitive, it requires the actions … [the board has] taken … when it comes to compensation for this year.”
What’s Next
With rising living costs and fierce competition for experienced teachers in North Texas, this historic pay plan ensures Plano ISD continues to stand out. Better compensation is expected to contribute to higher teacher retention rates, improved classroom stability, and stronger academic outcomes.
