After a prolonged closure lasting 18 months, the Jackson Road bridge in Colleyville has officially reopened to traffic, marking the completion of a major infrastructure project aimed at improving local transportation and safety.
The bridge, located between Riverwalk Drive and Oak Knoll Drive, had been closed since early 2023 to allow for a complete rebuild. The project involved replacing the aging bridge structure, updating utilities, and enhancing surrounding roadways to better serve both residential and commuter traffic.
The reconstruction effort began in January 2023 and faced several delays due to weather conditions, utility coordination, and supply chain challenges. Despite these setbacks, city officials emphasized that the project remained a top priority due to its strategic location and importance for community access.
Work on the bridge included:

Public Works staff added that the upgrades made during the rebuild will extend the life of the bridge and help accommodate future growth in the area.
The city of Colleyville continues to invest in infrastructure improvements, with upcoming road and drainage projects also on the calendar. The successful completion of the Jackson Road bridge demonstrates the city’s commitment to long-term planning, safety, and mobility for residents and visitors alike.
